BEN KAHN - SHORT BIO
Ben Kahn works as a Producer, Director and DGA 1st Assistant Director, with a background in feature editing. Over the past twenty-plus years, he has developed a comprehensive command of the production world by virtue of stints in most departments, on productions across the country and abroad. Ben’s documentary about family-based agriculture, The Last Link (Director), was narrated by Willie Nelson and was sold for broadcast internationally. His narrative submission to the 48-Hour Film contest, A Brief Case Of Love (Co-Director), was one of 14 selected internationally to screen at the Cannes Short Film Corner during the Cannes Film Festival. Ben’s commercial directing work focuses on rare moments of human connection and the often-missed comedy and drama of everyday life. Ben has produced for Showtime, Discovery Communications, Travel Channel, and The Weather Channel. His Producing and 1st A.D. credits include projects that have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival, the Venice Film Festival, South By Southwest, and on Netflix. Ben is based out of Altadena, California and Portland, Maine.
